Thanksgiving Poems

At this very special time of year
When our hearts and minds are grateful;
We heartily embrace the love
The joy, the peace and the faithful.
We thank the Lord for all we have
For supplying us another year;
The harvest and the fruits of labour
Have been earnt without a tear.
We say thank you for the seasons
They bring great times of being hearty;
May your Thanksgiving Day
Give you joy and let's PARTY!

Remember others throughout the world
At times like these we have more than our share;
Think of ways we can offer our help
To make it not only right but fair.

Count your blessings instead of your crosses;
Count your gains instead of your losses.
Count your joys instead of your woes;
Count your friends instead of your foes.
Count your smiles instead of your tears;
Count your courage instead of your fears.
Count your full years instead of your lean;
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean.
Count your health instead of your wealth;
Count on God instead of yourself.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.

The year has turned its circle,
The seasons come and go;
The harvest all is gathered in
And chilly north winds blow.
Orchards have shared their treasures,
The fields, their yellow grain;
So open wide the doorway
Thanksgiving comes again!

Where has the time just gone
It's whizzed around so fast;
It feels like only yesterday
I was sitting here in the past.
I'm so glad to be here another day
With my loved ones and close friends;
They are the ones who make life worth it
Alongside all the love that God does send.

Some call it Mother Nature
Is that because they're sexist?
Or just because they need a figure
For the reproduction or they're atheist?
However the cycles go around
That is what they do;
We should be so very glad
That they feed not just me and you.
We thank the moon and sun
The rain and wind at times;
As all are needed to provide
Our lives on earth in these climes.
