To add to the stable;
Keeping the family line
Long and able.

No name yet
Don't be blue;
I'd let them think about it
If I were you.

You look so tiny lying there
I can't believe you're here;
It's taken your Mom and Dad
Over quite a few years.

I've nagged and nagged
To be a grandma-ma;
Not sure Dad was keen
On the grandpa-pa.

We're so pleased to meet you
You look just like your Dad;
Anytime you want to stay
Just tell Mom she'll be glad.

A little bundle there;
Cosy in a blanket
Big enough to share.

Little eyes asleep
Fingers wrapped up in mittens;
I know when I finally see
That I will of course be smitten.

Twin Poems

What a surprise there's two
They never told us that;
It goes to show that technology
Really isn't all that.

One of you hid behind
Your sister or your brother;
Not sure which of you was first
Definitely one or the other.

So double the fun
And double the change;
Your lives are now upside down
Everything will be rearranged.

Some stick to pink or blue;
I thought cream instead
It can be changed for you?

As long as you have
Everything you need;
I'm sure you'll be great
Very great indeed.

Sleepyheads and that's the Mom
Dads snoring in the back;
Driving round to get to sleep
Before you hit the sack.

I'd fit a gadget on the crib
I'm sure they've invented one;
That will rock all night
If you'll excuse the pun.

Christening/Naming Ceremony

Christening is a way
To join God's family;
For all the family to see
Parenting and integrity.

Choosing names for all eternity
Can be a tricky job;
The meanings seem to get
Fulfilled, a slob or snob.

Fashions come and go
That goes for names as well;
Popularity counts for some
But the decade you can tell.

Traced your fingers that were gently curled
Through tears of joy, I whispered quietly
My beautiful godchild, welcome to the world.

Today, let's remember
God now has a new little member
We ask God to care for your child
And pray (Bobby) will have a smooth ride
And as (he) (she) travels along life's road
(He) (She) is never burdened with a heavy load

You are being blessed this day
Anointed with Christs life;
A brand new start from this very day
Protecting you from strife.

His footsteps you should follow
They'll lead you up to heaven;
Congratulations on this event
You will be forgiven.

You are a lovely baby
Beautiful, miraculous it's true;
We all love you very much
Today we will pray for you.

You've had a hard time of it
You poor little thing;
Your Mommy and Daddy
Your praises do sing.

They've said how good you are
Indeed you're very brave;
The doctors are working hard too
So they can see you wave.

You'll soon be home I expect
Cuddled up in your new crib;
With teddy bears galore
Drinking bottles with a bib.

Too nosey would be my guess;
Just like your Mom and your Dad
But all our lives you will bless.

As soon as you are able
The docs will send you home;
Then you'll wish you were back there
